President and Founder of Southern Colorado's Premier Civil Engineering consulting firm, Abel Engineering Professionals, Inc. (AEP). This full service Civil Engineering company has a reputation for excellence unmatched in Southern Colorado. AEP has expertise in the areas of Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying, Drafting, and Project Management. Under Mr. Tapia's guidance, the company has grown from a single person to one of the top companies in Colorado, with eighteen staff members and billable revenues of over $1,000,000 annually.

ASSISTANT CHIEF MINING ENGINEER CF&I Steel Corporation

1974- 1985 Pueblo, Colorado

Mr. Tapia's decade long tenure at CF&I involved him in several different departments and areas of responsibility. As Assistant Chief Mining Engineer, Mr. Tapia had direct responsibility for over $12,000,000 worth of site developments in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nevada. His staff consisted of ten engineers and four site engineers.
