Abel Engineering Professionals, Inc. (AEP), a consulting Civil Engineering, Surveying, and Environmental firm, was established in 1985 by Abel J. Tapia, P.E. to provide expertise to private industry and public agencies in the areas of civil design, environmental, land surveying, construction management, hydrology, facilities layout and design, and computer aided drafting.

Currently, the AEP office in Pueblo, Colorado consists of approximately 26 highly skilled people. Included in the staff are two senior level engineers, Abel Tapia, P.E., and Jeff Bailey, P.E., and two professional land surveyors, Dennis Pirtle, P.L.S. and John Holland, P.L.S.

AEP offers a wide variety of civil engineering services including environmental assessments, the design of streets, storm water systems, grading plans, sanitary sewers and wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations and residential and commercial buildings. Each phase of design work is supplemented by preliminary studies, master plans, engineering reports, field engineering, construction inspection, and surveying. Integration of computer-aided drafting (CAD) with construction plans and initial and final economic reports and feasibility studies are some of the services offered by AEP.

Additionally, AEP provides a full range of land surveying and mapping services including property and boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys and construction layout surveys. AEP utilizes the latest GPS and computer based technology. We employ experienced and professional personnel who not only are knowledgeable about the mechanics of surveying, but also understand the legal and environmental constraints inherent in their work.
